February's Volunteer of the Month!!

February’s Volunteer of the Month is Ms. Annette Francis. Ms. Annette accepted her first case in May 2011, involving a teenage girl. This case has been on a roller coaster ride since May with the case plan goal constantly changing, but Annette has managed to stay very active and open-minded through it all.

Annette has gone beyond her role as a CASA in this process of helping to reunify a family. Not only has Annette actively participated in all aspects of her case, she has spent numerous hours researching various topics to make her CASA child’s life better. Her willingness to attend all monthly visits, staffing, FTC meetings and Court hearings just touches on her dedication as a volunteer.

Annette has 3 children of her own and still makes time to be a wonderful CASA to a child in need. Annette is also active within our program as she attends most in-service opportunities, helps with fundraising projects and is prompt with all case work required. Annette is an Amazing individual and volunteer whom we are blessed to work with.

GYPSY SOULS DANCE FOR CASA

GYPSY SOULS, a belly dancing troup from Thibodaux, held a performance and donated all proceeds to CASA of Lafourche. They raised $400 to help us speak up for children in Lafourche parish. THANK YOU!!

Nicholl's State University's Panhellinic Counsel donated all proceeds from their annual talent show to CASA of Lafourche. The total amount of their donation is $500. THANK YOU!!

CASA of Lafourche is now located at 603 West Jackson Street, Suite C (the corner of West Jackson Street and 6th Street) in downtown Thibodaux. We love our roomier new space. Come by and visit!

TASTE OF SOUTH LOUISIANA

CASA of Lafourche has received a limited number of tickets to TASTE OF SOUTH LOUISIANA to sell. CASA of Lafourche will receieve the entire proceeds from the sale of these tickets.

TASTE OF SOUTH LOUISIANA will be held at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center, October 19th, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. This annual event features classic Cajun cooking from a variety of local chefs, restaurants and home cooks. Ticket cost: $20.

Please phone the office at 985.446.6600 for ticket availability and to reserve your tickets. You can also purchase tickets during regular office hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Fete d'Ecologie

CASA of Lafourche participated in Fete d'Ecologie September 24th at Lake End Park in Morgan City. We had a great time folding oragami birds, fish and frogs with children of all ages. We would like to thank BTNEP for putting on a fantastic Fete. See you again next year!
